Former Super Junior member Kangin is resuming his activities.
On the 12th, Kangin posted a fan meeting tour poster on his account. He announced, “The comeback you’ve been waiting for. It took a long time, but I’ve finally made it here. Kangin will hold his first solo fan meeting tour next year.”
Kangin will meet global fans starting in Manila on January 11, 2026, followed by Ho Chi Minh City (January 24), Mexico City (January 28), Lima (January 30), and Santiago (February 1).
Ayumi commented “Fighting,” while Zhoumi and Kim Kibum, who were also Super Junior members, expressed their support with emojis and Kim Heechul’s cheering memes.
Kangin debuted as a Super Junior member in 2005. Although he was a key member showcasing his natural visual appeal and variety show skills during his debut, the spotlight was short-lived.
In 2009, Kangin was involved in a hit-and-run drunk driving incident and was sentenced to a fine for violating laws related to aggravated punishment for specific crimes. After an 8-month hiatus, Kangin returned with Super Junior’s 6th album, ‘Sexy, Free & Single,’ after completing his military service.
However, in 2016, he received a fine of 7 million KRW for a second drunk driving accident, and in 2017, he was involved in a controversy related to an assault incident while drunk.
In 2019, Kangin was also suspected of being a member of Jung Joon-young’s chat room, though it was revealed that they were merely in a ‘business’ relationship, and Kangin had no involvement in the illegal filming distribution incident. He was cleared of charges after a police investigation but decided to leave Super Junior.
Since then, Kangin had been on a long hiatus, engaging only in minimal communication through his personal channel without any official activities. Now, after six years, he has resumed his activities, turning his focus abroad rather than domestically, which is drawing attention.
