Park Sung-hoon is featured as Hyun-joo, participant number 120, a transgender character who needs money for gender-affirming surgery.
Netflix recently released character introduction videos and nine posters showing major characters and their contestant numbers for “Squid Game” Season 2. The series sees Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) returning with a resolve for revenge, facing off against the Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun), marking the start of another intense game.
Park Sung-hoon’s portrayal as a transgender character includes him wearing makeup, a short bob, and earrings, capturing a striking visual transformation. This role is a significant departure from his past characters, showing a daring transformation.
Previously, Park Sung-hoon gained global recognition for his portrayal of the villain Jeon Jae-jun in Netflix’s “The Glory” in 2022. He continues to prove his acting range with his role in tvN’s series “The Queen of Tears,” where he played M&A specialist Yoon Eun-sung, showcasing a cold and intense persona that earned both intrigue and ire from viewers.
The simultaneous filming of “The Queen of Tears” and “Squid Game 2” over approximately six months pushed Park Sung-hoon’s versatility as an actor.
