“Not going to Canada”… Lee Hwi-jae seeks opportunities in Korea after returning in four years

The broadcaster Lee Hwi-jae, who has returned to the stage after four years, is expected to stay in Korea for the time being instead of returning to Canada. According to a Star News report on the 17th, Lee Hwi-jae, who completed a recording of KBS 2TV’s entertainment program ‘Immortal Songs’ on the 16th, plans to stay in Korea for now rather than going back to his family in Canada. It is reported that he will stay at his home in Korea and consider future broadcasting activities. Although no programs are confirmed yet, he is believed to be preparing for activities with various possibilities in mind.

Previously, on the afternoon of the 16th, Lee Hwi-jae participated in the recording of ‘Immortal Songs’ held at KBS’s new annex public hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. This marks his first broadcast appearance in about four years since stepping down as an MC from KBS 2TV’s entertainment information program ‘Live Weekly’ in April 2022.
