New Member Discussion to Fill Dex’s Spot

According to The Fact’s coverage on the 9th, Lim Ji-yeon has been selected as a new member for tvN’s new variety show ‘Sisters’ Local Delivery 2′. With her bright energy and easy-going personality, there is growing anticipation about what fresh ‘chemistry’ she will create with original members Yum Jung-ah and Park Jun-myeon.
‘Sisters’ Local Delivery’ is a reality show set in a fishing village where participants can enjoy various local jobs and seasonal foods unique to the area. In Season 1, which aired from July to October last year, Yum Jung-ah, Ahn Eun-jin, Park Jun-myeon, and Dex appeared.
The show gained much love for the diverse chemistry between its members and the wholesome charm of the show, featuring a star-studded guest lineup including Hwang Jung-min, Cha Tae-hyun, Park Hae-jin, and Park Jung-min. Consequently, the program achieved a record high viewership rating of 5.5% (based on Nielsen Korea’s national household ratings) and became a hot topic, securing the production of a second season.
In December last year, the production team of ‘Sisters’ Local Delivery’ stated that they were planning for its broadcast the following year but had not yet finalized the cast, filming schedule, or programming details. Original members Yum Jung-ah and Park Jun-myeon will return for Season 2, but Ahn Eun-jin and Dex will not be joining. The production team is currently in discussions to cast a new member to replace Dex and is finalizing talks with a prominent actor.
Lim Ji-yeon debuted in the 2011 film ‘Disaster Movie’ and gained recognition with ‘Obsessed’ in 2014. She reached stardom with her role as school violence perpetrator Park Yeon-jin in Netflix’s ‘The Glory,’ released in 2022.
Continuing her steady work in dramas like ‘Lies Hidden in My Garden’ and ‘National Death Penalty Vote,’ as well as the film ‘Revolver,’ she is currently leading the JTBC drama ‘Lady King’ as Ok Tae-young, a runaway slave turned fake noblewoman. The show started with a 4.2% rating in episode 1 and climbed to 11.1% by episode 10, partly due to her passionate performance.
With her joining ‘Sisters’ Local Delivery 2,’ Lim Ji-yeon is expected to maintain her ‘actively working’ trajectory. Having appeared in ‘Son Hyun-joo’s Local Station’ in 2021 and ‘Real Friends If I Were to Go Just Once’ in 2022, she will make her return to a fixed variety show appearance after roughly 3 years, raising interest in the diverse charms she’ll exhibit.
