[Exclusive] Police Start Identifying Suspect in Lee Yi-kyung Threat Case; Subscriber Information Being Seized
[Dispatch=Reporter Kim Ji-ho] The investigation into the suspect threatening actor Lee Yi-kyung is expected to gain momentum. Police are moving to secure clues to identify the unknown person A.
According to ‘Dispatch’, the court issued a search and seizure warrant related to A’s accounts on the 21st. The police plan to advance the investigation by obtaining IP and log data from the Naver and X (formerly Twitter) accounts used by A.
Naver is known to actively cooperate in criminal investigations such as threats. X also provides subscriber information following court warrants. Since A utilized both Naver’s blog and X, it is expected that identifying them will not be difficult.
Last month, A posted a blog entry on Naver claiming to “expose Lee Yi-kyung’s true character.” They shared private conversations purportedly with Lee Yi-kyung, posting KakaoTalk chats and Instagram DMs.
Lee Yi-kyung maintains that A’s revelations are false. He recently filed a complaint against A for threats and defamation with the Gangnam Police Station, where he reportedly completed the complainant’s interrogation.
On the 21st, Lee Yi-kyung expressed his frustration in a lengthy statement, saying, “A person claiming to be German sent threatening emails to the company months ago” and “appeared and disappeared repeatedly.”
He also shared his experience with being advised to leave the MBC-TV show ‘Hangout with Yoo’ after A claimed manipulation but then vanished. He expressed his disappointment over the situation.
Finally, Lee Yi-kyung stated that “once the warrant is issued, the suspect will soon be identified,” adding, “If A is in Germany, I will go there in person to file a complaint,” expressing hope for progress in the investigation.
Meanwhile, A has been inconsistent, initially describing their post as a prank using AI-generated images, then reversing their statement.
