Actress Lee Se-young is slated to star in “The Remarried Empress.” A source in the entertainment industry revealed to JTBC Entertainment News on the 7th that Lee Se-young has confirmed her appearance in the drama adaptation of “The Remarried Empress.” Previously, it was reported by the media that actors Shin Min-ah and Lee Jong-suk were joining the cast. Regarding this, Lee Se-young’s agency, Prain TPC, stated that it is one of the projects she has been offered.
“The Remarried Empress” is based on a romance and fantasy web novel of the same name, which is also serialized as a webtoon. The story revolves around Navier, an impeccable empress of the Eastern Empire, who opts for divorce upon learning that her husband, the emperor, is trying to make his mistress the empress. Determined not to be an empress there, she decides to become an empress elsewhere.
In the drama, Lee Se-young will take on the role of Rashta Isqua. She is a runaway slave accidentally discovered by Emperor Sovieshu during a hunting trip. Shortly after entering the palace, she becomes Sovieshu’s concubine and is an essential character in the development of the story. Audiences are keen to see how Lee Se-young’s solid acting skills will shine in this project.
“The Remarried Empress” will be produced by Studio N and directed by Jo Soo-won, known for dramas like “I Can Hear Your Voice” and “Pinocchio.”
