Kim Soo-hyun Faces Backlash with 10 Brands Considering Boycott Amid ‘Knockoff’ Release in April and Final Season 2 Filming
Amid the unfolding scandal involving late Kim Sae-ron (25) who had sent messages to actor Kim Soo-hyun (37) along with revealing photos, Kim Soo-hyun’s public image faces inevitable damage. As a result, there are concerns about his upcoming Disney+ series “Knockoff.”
On March 11, the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (Garo Sero) stirred controversy by releasing additional photos of Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron’s intimate moments, along with messages Kim Sae-ron had sent him.
This incident has already impacted Kim Soo-hyun’s next project, Disney+ original “Knockoff,” and the 10 brands he represents as a model. Some netizens are compiling lists of brands he models for and are initiating a boycott movement.
When the new evidence was disclosed, the controversy further intensified. This included a photo from 2016 where Kim Soo-hyun is seen kissing Kim Sae-ron’s cheek, taken when she was 16 and he was 28. This image coincidentally links to another picture Kim Sae-ron had briefly shared on her Instagram, featuring them together from March last year during the peak popularity of “Queen of Tears.”
Gold Medalist, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, responded, “We are currently discussing our response,” without further elaboration.
In a message Kim Sae-ron left for Kim Soo-hyun before her passing, she expressed distress over receiving a notice of legal action and pleaded, “Please help me survive. I need time.” Kim Soo-hyun did not reply to this message.
Kim Soo-hyun is embroiled in allegations of having been in a long-term relationship with a minor and later ghosting her after sending a substantial legal notice, which has significantly tarnished his image. All eyes are now on Kim Soo-hyun and his agency for their forthcoming statement regarding these allegations.
