Former journalist and YouTuber Lee Jin-ho has made additional revelations about the late Kim Sae-ron, but the response from netizens has been cold.
On the 19th, a video titled “Shocking Exclusive! The Truth Hidden by Kim Sae-ron’s Family” was uploaded to the YouTube channel “Entertainment President Lee Jin-ho.”
In the video, Lee Jin-ho expressed his sympathy for the deceased but stated, “The current situation is by no means normal.”
He claimed that Kim Sae-ron’s family was hiding the truth, asserting that rumors of her being married were true.
Lee Jin-ho released a recorded phone conversation between Kim Sae-ron and an agency official. In the recording, Kim Sae-ron discussed having held a wedding with a man in New York on January 8th and mentioned having been pregnant with his child but then having an abortion.
Lee Jin-ho argued that it was untrue that Kim Sae-ron made an extreme attempt after watching his video on January 8th, claiming she was in the U.S. with her husband at the time, not with family.
He further alleged that the family did not pay 20 million KRW in hospital bills resulting from Kim Sae-ron’s attempted extreme choice, and that her agency covered the costs instead.
However, netizens reacted by accusing him of defaming the deceased’s honor. Comments on the video included criticisms such as “How can you claim to be sympathetic while dragging a deceased child’s name through the mud again? Please, shut up and reflect if you have kids yourself,” and “Kim Sae-ron’s supposed marriage has nothing to do with whether Kim Soo-hyun was involved with a minor.”
The family of Kim Sae-ron has filed a defamation lawsuit against Lee Jin-ho.
