Jimin enters 14 Billboard categories even during military hiatus… The pinnacle of K-pop solo artists.

BTS’s Jimin has set a new standard for K-pop solo artists by achieving outstanding success on the 2024 U.S. Billboard Year-End Chart.

On December 13th (local time), it was announced that Jimin was listed in a total of 14 categories on the Billboard Year-End Chart, surpassing his 13 entries from the previous year. Notably, his second solo album ‘MUSE’ reached 200th place on the main album chart, the ‘Billboard 200’. This achievement makes him the first and only Korean solo artist to enter the chart for two consecutive years with 2023’s ‘FACE’ and 2024’s ‘MUSE’.

Furthermore, his title track ‘Who’ entered the ‘Streaming Songs’ chart at 74, making it the first Korean solo song to enter this chart since Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’. This record is even more remarkable as it was achieved with just three months of charting since its release.

Additionally, ‘Who’ ranked 9th on the ‘Digital Song Sales’ chart, and Jimin placed 15th in the ‘Digital Song Sales Artists’ category. With these achievements, he reached 89th on the ‘Hot 100 Artists’ chart, standing shoulder to shoulder with artists worldwide and firmly establishing his musical influence.

Jimin also became the first and only Korean artist to have two songs on the 2024 Billboard Year-End ‘Global 200’ chart with ‘Who’ ranking 106th and ‘Like Crazy’ entering at 154th. On the ‘Global Excl. U.S.’ chart, the two songs ranked 99th and 112th respectively, proving his strong global fanbase and musical prowess.

His album achievements are also noteworthy. ‘MUSE’ ranked 46th on the ‘Top Current Album Sales’ Year-End chart and 11th on the ‘World Albums’ chart, with Jimin securing 6th place in the ‘World Album Artists’ category. These records are unique for a Korean solo artist and contribute significantly to expanding new horizons for K-pop.

These accomplishments by Jimin are the result of his musical prowess and unwavering fan support even during his military service. ‘Who’ continues to chart on the Billboard Main Singles Chart ‘Hot 100’ for 21 consecutive weeks, showing his enduring popularity and influence.

Fans are praising him as “a living legend of K-pop,” expressing amazement at his achievements during military service, and acknowledging him as “the pinnacle of global solo artists”. There is growing anticipation for how far Jimin’s music will reach and what new milestones he will achieve after completing his military service.
