Jeon Hyun-moo, “Not Related to ‘Injection Auntie'” – “IV Drip in Car 9 Years Ago = Prescribed by Doctor” (Full Statement)

Comedian Park Na-rae has recently been embroiled in allegations of illegal medical practices related to ‘Injection Aunt,’ and broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo, who had been with Park on ‘I Live Alone’ for a long time, quickly clarified when an old scene of him receiving an IV drip in a car was re-examined.

On the 19th, a representative from Jeon Hyun-moo’s agency, SM C&C, told OSEN regarding the past broadcast scene currently spreading online, “Jeon Hyun-moo was not in good condition at the time, so he received treatment after consultations and prescription from a doctor at the hospital. Due to a tight shooting schedule, part of the treatment process was inevitably completed while moving, under the doctor’s judgement, and this was exposed in the broadcast.” They dismissed the allegations of illegal medical practices.

They further stated, “All medical procedures, except the completion of treatment, were conducted based on the medical staff’s judgement and prescriptions within the hospital. There was no personal call to medical personnel or illegal treatments.” They emphasized, “The current suspicions arose from a lack of sufficient context of the overall situation at that time, with certain scenes being discussed online leading to misunderstandings.”

They also requested, “Please refrain from baseless speculations and distorted interpretations to prevent the spread of misunderstandings that are not in line with the facts.”

Earlier that morning, a photo of Jeon Hyun-moo receiving an IV in a car was rapidly spreading online. The photo came from episode 142 of the MBC variety show ‘I Live Alone,’ aired on January 29, 2016. At the time, Jeon Hyun-moo, who was suffering from vocal cord nodules due to a busy schedule, shared a photo of himself receiving an IV in a car in a group chat with the show’s cast. Surprised, fellow cast member Kim Young-chul called him, and Jeon explained, “It’s because my throat is not in good condition.”

At the time of the broadcast, it was not a big issue. In fact, public sympathy arose for Jeon, who was exhausted both physically and mentally from a busy schedule and negative comments.

However, subsequent to Park Na-rae, a key member of ‘I Live Alone,’ being embroiled in illegal medical allegations through her former managers’ revelations about ‘Injection Aunt’ and ‘IV Aunt,’ this resurfaced as controversy nine years after the broadcast. This raised questions about legality, as receiving an IV outside a designated area like a hospital or ambulance seemed questionable. As the controversy arose, his agency quickly drew the line with a statement.

Meanwhile, Park Na-rae faces multiple allegations, including power harassment, illegal medical practices, and not registering her private agency, stemming from revelations by former managers. In response, Park Na-rae halted her activities and filed a countersuit for blackmail allegations against the former managers, stating that she would clarify her stance through legal proceedings. Amid this, related to ‘Injection Aunt,’ it surfaced that SHINee’s Key and YouTuber Ip-jjabul Hae-nim had received house calls from her, thinking she was a medical professional, leading to their suspension from broadcasting activities.

Below is the full official statement from Jeon Hyun-moo’s side:

Hello, this is SM C&C representing broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo.

Regarding the past broadcast scene spreading online recently, we would like to clarify the facts as follows:

The scene in question is from the 2016 broadcast of ‘I Live Alone.’ At the time, Jeon Hyun-moo was not in good health, and he received treatment after consultations and prescriptions from a doctor at the hospital. Due to a lack of time ahead of the shooting schedule, under the doctor’s judgement, part of the treatment process inevitably took place while moving, and this was exposed in the broadcast.

All medical procedures, except for the completion of treatment, were conducted based on the medical staff’s judgement and prescriptions within the hospital. There was no personal call to medical personnel or illegal treatments.

The current allegations arose from a lack of sufficient context about the overall situation at the time, with certain scenes being discussed online, leading to misunderstandings.

To prevent the spread of misunderstandings that do not align with the facts, we ask you to refrain from baseless speculations and distorted interpretations.
