DJ Peggy Gou revealed the recent status of actor Yoo Ah-in (real name Uhm Hong-sik). On September 4th, Peggy Gou posted a selfie on her personal SNS with director Bong Joon-ho and Yoo Ah-in, captioned “Fav director! Love Bong Director.” In the photo, Peggy Gou strikes a playful flower pose next to Bong Joon-ho, while Yoo Ah-in, sitting beside them with a cap pulled low, is shown smiling brightly. This is the first time Yoo Ah-in’s private life has been publicly revealed since he had only been appearing at trial hearings due to allegations of drug use.
Subsequently, Yoo Ah-in was sentenced to one year in prison at the first trial in September 2024 and was taken into custody. However, in February the following year, his sentence was reduced to one year with a two-year probation during the second trial, leading to his release after five months in Seoul Detention Center. Ultimately, Yoo Ah-in avoided actual imprisonment. In July, the Supreme Court’s first division dismissed the prosecutor’s appeal during the sentencing related to violations of the Narcotics Control Act, confirming the lower court’s decision of a one-year sentence with two years of probation and a fine of 2 million won.
