“Hana Kyung, final loss in lawsuit against mistress for the sake of ‘baby who went to heaven’… Confirmed 15 million won”

[Exclusive] “Even for the child in heaven” – Han Kyung loses final lawsuit as mistress, ordered to pay 15 million won

[OSEN = Reporter Jang Woo-young] The Supreme Court dismissed Han Kyung’s appeal regarding the second trial verdict, which ordered her to pay 15 million won in damages as a mistress.

On the 16th, according to OSEN’s coverage, the Supreme Court dismissed Han Kyung’s appeal on the 15th. As a result, the ruling of Han Kyung having to pay 15 million won in damages to A was finalized with a partial victory for the plaintiff.

On July 18, 2023, the Busan District Court Dongbu Branch’s Civil Division 6 Sole Judge ruled in favor of the plaintiff in a lawsuit filed by A against Han Kyung for compensation as a mistress, ordering Han Kyung to pay 15 million won to A.

According to materials presented in court, A’s husband, B, met Han Kyung at an entertainment venue in Busan at the end of 2021, and they began a formal relationship in January 2022. Han Kyung became pregnant with B’s child after traveling to Vietnam in April 2022. B planned to divorce A, marry Han Kyung, and emigrate to Vietnam, but when A refused to divorce, the plan fell apart. Han Kyung then directly contacted A to reveal her relationship with B, her pregnancy, and other matters.

Han Kyung claimed she was unaware of B’s marital status until April 2022. She stated that her communication with A was solely to address the pregnancy or to recover money loaned to B, and claimed no wrongdoing.

Before the ruling, Han Kyung submitted a petition stating, “Even if I had to raise the child alone, I severed ties with B by informing A of everything. Despite revealing B’s true nature, A is falsely accusing me and making the victim into the perpetrator,” she continued, “I’ve suffered significant mental and physical damage due to B’s lies, the pregnancy, and the abortion. Yet, A is harassing an innocent me, demanding monetary compensation.”

However, Han Kyung’s arguments were not accepted in the appellate court either. In January, at the Busan District Court Dongbu Branch’s 4-1 Civil Division’s appellate trial, both Han Kyung’s and A’s appeals were dismissed.

Afterward, Han Kyung stated, “I presented evidence, but not only did I not win or get a reduction in the compensation amount, the case got dismissed. A couldn’t provide evidence, but I did, and it’s so unfair. I’m disappointed in the court. In my petition, I mentioned how I had to send my unborn child to heaven through abortion, and the pain still feels like my heart is torn apart. Even for the child’s sake, I want to clear this injustice,” indicating her willingness to take the matter to the Supreme Court and submitted an appeal regarding the mistress damages claim.

However, it was confirmed that Han Kyung did not submit a statement of reasons for her appeal to the Supreme Court. With the appeal dismissed, the partial victory verdict ordering Han Kyung to pay 15 million won to A was finalized. A expressed gratitude for the court’s decision, saying, “Despite the unrepentant attitude until the end and even appealing to the Supreme Court, Han Kyung couldn’t submit a single statement of reasons. Now that it’s concluded, I’m grateful for the court’s ruling.” Han Kyung could not be reached for comment.

Meanwhile, Han Kyung debuted in 2005 with the MBC drama ‘Mystery Documentary: Byeol Soon-gum.’ She continued to appear in films such as ‘The House with a Good View’, ‘Touch by Touch’, and ‘Wrestling’. She garnered attention at the 2012 Blue Dragon Film Awards wearing a dress with significant exposure. After her appearance in the 2017 film ‘Everyone Starts’, she did not engage in significant entertainment activities and changed her stage name to So Hye-ri, shifting her activities to be an Afreeca TV BJ.
