Seo Min-jae (renamed Seo Eun-woo), who appeared on ‘Heart Signal 3’, shared the details of her conflict with her boyfriend, who she identified as the father of her child. In an exclusive interview with OSEN, eight days after revealing her pregnancy on social media, Seo Min-jae expressed her frustration, saying, “What I ultimately received was a lawsuit.”

On the afternoon of the 15th, when we met Seo Min-jae at OEN Law Firm in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, she explained the process from when she found out about her pregnancy until now in detail. Wearing a cap and black mask, she slowly recalled events from the past month.

Seo Min-jae first described her relationship with A, stating they had been dating for about seven months since last year. Though not a long-term relationship, it was serious enough that they had introduced each other to their parents, and her boyfriend even attended her younger sister’s wedding, indicating a deeper connection.

Seo Min-jae learned about her pregnancy around mid-last month. When she informed her boyfriend A, he said he would respect her decision and gave her time, after which Seo decided to keep the baby. They then planned to disclose the pregnancy to their parents and discuss marriage and childbirth, but Seo later heard from A’s parents that they would disown him if she had the child.

Seo protested, saying, “Isn’t that a way of telling me to get rid of the child?” Ultimately, both families and Seo and A met on April 30 for a discussion. During this meeting, Seo was told by A’s parents, “We never said to get rid of it. Whether you keep it or not is up to you, but even if you give birth, it will not be registered in the family record.” Seo argued further, expressing her frustration that not registering the child equates to denying its existence.

Despite the hour-long conversation, no conclusion was reached, and A’s parents left, telling the couple to resolve the matter themselves. Later, on May 2, A told Seo he would take legal responsibility if she kept the baby but would no longer speak to her because of the way she acted and made his mother angry, leading to total silence between them.

Thus Seo decided to continue reaching out via social media. After revealing her pregnancy on SNS and trying to meet A in person by honking her car horn outside his house, she received no response. The next day, she received messages from A telling her to stop visiting and contacting him, expressing that he was frightened, and claiming further contact was impossible. Seo lamented the lack of communication required to discuss raising the child, noting being countersued left her with no options.

After continuing to post on SNS in attempts to contact A, on the 4th, A filed a lawsuit against Seo at the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul for violating the Stalking Punishment Act, the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation), confinement, and assault, which Seo learned from A’s lawyer.

Seo expressed feeling pressured by the situation, saying, “The lawyer emphasized my current probation status, referencing stalking and asking if I wasn’t worried. They were pushing me, even when the two situations are separate.” Back in January last year, Seo received a sentence of 10 months in prison, suspended for two years, for methamphetamine use.

Seo articulated her shock, saying, “Though A claims he will be responsible for the child, he showed no concern for the possibility that the child’s mother might be incarcerated.”

In response, A released a statement via his legal representative, Loel Law Firm, explaining that Seo had shared photos revealing A’s face and personal details on her SNS on the 2nd and that she claimed he cut off contact after learning about the pregnancy, disclosing his workplace and address along with SMS interaction.
