[The Fact | Reporter Kang Il-hong] During the funeral ceremony of the late singer Kim Minki on the morning of the 24th, it was confirmed that Lee Soo Man, the former head producer of SM Entertainment, visited the funeral home the previous day and delivered meal expenses to the bereaved family members.

On the morning of that day, an anonymous entertainment industry insider told The Fact, “Lee Soo Man, the former head, visited the funeral home yesterday afternoon and contributed 50 million won as a sign of condolences.” The insider said, “Upon hearing that the bereaved family members do not accept separate condolences during the funeral period, he expressed his intention to use the meal expenses for the many mourners who came to mourn for the deceased.”

The insider added, “It is not something that anyone can readily give a large amount just because they have money and leisure.” and continued, “Even among people in the entertainment industry, many are warmly applauding the deep intentions of Lee, the former head of SM.”

Lee Soo Man, who showed special interest and affection for the deceased in their relationship as Seoul National University seniors and juniors, also donated more than 100 million won when the school they operated, Hakjeon, closed in March.

The late Kim Minki debuted as a singer in 1970 with the song ‘Morning Dew,’ while Lee Soo Man debuted as a member of the band in 1972 with ‘April and May.’ Lee Soo Man was one year junior to the deceased. They were both active as singers during a similar period and shared a musical bond. As a singer-songwriter, musical director, and democratization activist, and as a figure who pioneered their respective fields in broadcasting and entertainment business, they were also respected figures for each other.
