Blackpink’s Jennie moves into a building with a monthly rent of 60 million KRW… Goodbye to building code violation controversy.

Sports Chosun’s Baek Ji-eun reports that Blackpink’s Jennie has decided on a significant move. In early November, Jennie will relocate her private label, Odd Atelier, to a newly constructed small building in the Hannam-dong area of Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

The new office building has a total floor area of 927 square meters (approximately 280 pyeong) with one basement floor and four above-ground floors. This building is not only well-located, but it was also designed by architect Hong Tae-sun, who was inducted as an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects in 2024, a unique distinction for a U.S.-active architect in Korea. As of the end of last year, the building was listed on the rental market with a deposit ranging from 1.5 billion to 2.5 billion KRW and a monthly rent of 60 million to 80 million KRW. It is estimated that the selling price is around 45 billion KRW.

Jennie decided to move due to the expiration of the lease for her current office space, a single-family home in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, at the end of October. The previous office had been at the center of controversy for changing its intended use from a gallery to an office without authorization, thus violating construction laws. Yongsan-gu Office plans to impose administrative penalties on the owner of the building.

Currently, Jennie is partaking in Blackpink’s world tour, “Deadline.” The band’s complete world tour marks their biggest tour to date, following “Born Pink,” which attracted 1.8 million attendees, setting a record for K-pop girl groups. During this tour, Blackpink made history as the first K-pop girl group to perform at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London. The “Deadline” tour continues with stops in Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and more. Additionally, they will be making a comeback with a new album in November.
