[OSEN = Reporter Choi I-jung] Baekga, a member of the group Koyote, has bid farewell to his beloved mother. The heartfelt reconciliation between the mother and son previously shown on a broadcast now brings a wave of deep emotion.
On the 20th, Koyote’s representatives officially announced, “Baekga’s mother passed away today (20th) due to a chronic illness. Currently, Baekga is with the bereaved family, spending time in mourning. We ask for your warm condolences and prayers for the deceased.”
The funeral will be held at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital in Seoul, with the funeral service scheduled for 10:30 AM on the 22nd (Thursday).
Baekga had appeared with his mother on the Channel A variety show ‘Oh Eun-young’s Golden Counseling Center’ in 2023, where they faced deep wounds and spent time reconciling. During the broadcast, Baekga admitted, “I tried to talk about the past with my mother naturally, but it was harder than I expected,” visibly moved to tears.
In a shocking revelation, he shared, “There was a time in my childhood when my mother tried to scare me by threatening to set the house on fire.” His mother, apologizing through tears, said, “I was trying to scare you because you wouldn’t listen.” Baekga confessed, “Though it’s a little late, I have come to understand my mother’s sincerity, and I feel at ease,” resonating with many viewers.
In an interview with OSEN, he further stated, “After the recording, my mother sincerely apologized again, and I told her it’s okay. I believe that sincerity eventually gets through.”
Though they couldn’t spend more time together in life, the final moments of confirming each other’s hearts through ‘Gold Counseling Center’ are touching the hearts of many.
Upon hearing the news, netizens are also expressing their condolences, saying, “Stay strong, Baekga,” “It’s a relief they reconciled,” and “May your mother rest in a good place.”
