On the 23rd, on Channel A’s ‘These Days Parenting – My Kid Like Geumjjogi,’ Hong Hyun-hee opened up about her parenting concerns.
That day, Jang Young-ran asked Hong Hyun-hee, “There are many rumors going around. I heard that Inkkobu couple Jayson and Hong Hyun-hee have been fighting.” In response, Hong Hyun-hee said, “We had a fight yesterday too,” revealing that they have differing opinions on putting the child to sleep.
Hong Hyun-hee said, “I took a walk carrying the child. We walked a little late, so the child’s sleeping time got a bit disrupted. Mr. Jayson said we must strictly adhere to the sleeping time, and what if the child doesn’t grow taller. I take the stance of following the routine at 24 months,” she said.
When Hong Hyun-hee mentioned, “I also sent a text. I said, ‘Maybe the child wants to play.’ Even after 11 pm,” the panelists were surprised. Shin Ae-ra said, “That’s going a bit too far,” and Jang Young-ran also stated, “That’s not right.” Hong Hyun-hee replied, “Isn’t it before 12? Haven’t we stayed up till 2 in the morning without playing?” bringing laughter.
Oh Eun-young said, “Although the bedtime was set for 8 pm, it’s not a big deal if it’s 8:05 pm,” and warned, “But the problem is if parents come home late and play with the child, the child will stay up and wait the next day. That’s the problem.” Oh Eun-young said, “Of course, I understand the busy parents who want to play with them. Because children love it when parents play with them, they try to stay up.” She advised that while keeping a routine is good, there is no need to strictly follow it at 5-10 minute intervals.
Meanwhile, Geumjjogi’s grandmother and mother appeared. Geumjjogi’s grandmother was recommended to appear as a fan of ‘My Kid Like Geumjjogi.’ The grandmother said, “I have many siblings and many nieces and nephews. Seeing many grandchildren grow up, I felt that Geumjjogi is different. He was full of tricks until he was 6 years old.” She then expressed difficulties starting from that point. In a following video, Geumjjogi was seen wearing a mask even indoors. The grandmother and mother shared their concerns, saying, “He doesn’t talk with friends and avoids them. He seems conscious of how others see him.”
The mother said, “He doesn’t like to go outside. If I force him to go for a walk, he hides behind me when a car passes by, or covers his face. He says there might be a friend from our class in that car. Because he finds social interactions difficult, I muster up courage to take him outside.”
