Samsung Electronics Unveils High-Efficiency Hybrid Outdoor Unit at North America’s Largest HVAC Exhibition

Samsung Electronics is set to showcase its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) products, including a high-efficiency hybrid outdoor unit, at the “AHR EXPO 2025,” the largest HVAC exhibition in North America, held in Orlando, Florida from February 10 to 12. The event, organized by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), will feature participation from more than 1,800 global companies. Samsung is aiming to make inroads into the North American HVAC market by showcasing its latest products and technologies.

Samsung has prepared a 350㎡ (approximately 100 pyeong) booth at the exhibition to display its high-efficiency hybrid inverter outdoor unit “Hylex (Hylex) R454B,” residential heat pump “EHS,” high-efficiency system air conditioner R32 “DVM” lineup, and other residential and commercial HVAC solutions.

The hybrid Hylex outdoor unit, particularly targeted at the North American residential unitary market, offers excellent compatibility with indoor units and is easy to install. The unit can utilize existing refrigerant pipes and wiring during replacement, allowing for the connection of pipes of various sizes, which enhances installation convenience and reduces costs.

The residential unitary products tailored for North America are used in homes or small to medium-sized buildings and cool the space by releasing cold air through ducts.

Samsung will also feature the EHS products, including the “ClimateHub Mono” with a 200-liter dedicated water tank, a compact-sized wall-mounted “Hydro Unit Mono” indoor unit, and the “Mono R32 HT Quiet” outdoor unit.

The residential heat pump EHS is a solution used for underfloor heating and domestic hot water. It generates hot water using air heat and electricity, making it more efficient and emitting less carbon compared to boilers that use fossil fuels.

This exhibition will also introduce the commercial DVM large-capacity system air conditioner, which has adopted the R32 refrigerant—reducing the Global Warming Potential (GWP) by about 32% compared to the existing R410A refrigerant.

Additionally, Samsung has set up an exhibition zone to introduce the experience of connecting devices via SmartThings and its lineup of Wind-Free air conditioners.

Hwang Seok-choi, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ DA Business Division, said, “Samsung has consistently showcased innovative HVAC solutions that combine unrivaled technology and SmartThings connectivity experience,” adding, “We will continue to actively penetrate the global HVAC market, including North America.”
