Kia to Participate in UAE IDEX 2025 Defense Exhibition… Diversifying Lineup

Kia has announced its participation in the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX 2025), which will be held from February 17th to 21st (local time) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The IDEX is the largest international defense exhibition in the Africa and Middle East region, with over 1,350 companies from 65 countries.

At IDEX 2025, Kia will present a range of derived products including the Medium Tactical Vehicle (KMTV) bonnet type bear chassis and the Light Tactical Vehicle (KLTV) 2-seater cargo. Additionally, it will unveil its first authentic pickup truck, the Tasman.

The KMTV is a vehicle designed to replace the existing 2.5-ton and 5-ton military standard vehicles, and it will start supplying to the military from June this year. This vehicle is equipped with various features such as front and rear cameras and a navigation system, enhancing the safe transport of troops and supplies. It can traverse water up to 1 meter deep, ascend and descend 60% gradients, and operate on 40% tilts, accommodating up to 25 passengers for safe transport even in challenging terrains.

The showcased medium standard vehicle bonnet type bear chassis is composed solely of the frame and engine, allowing for various modifications based on specific use cases. Its design ensures the driver’s safety by positioning the driver’s seat behind the engine, offering protection from frontal threats.

The KLTV 2-seater cargo is engineered to support military operations safely across diverse environments, capable of wading through 760 mm of water, navigating 60% inclines and 40% side slopes, starting in temperatures as low as -32 degrees Celsius, and featuring electromagnetic shielding.

Kia’s light tactical vehicles are recognized for their excellent mobility and platform-based versatility, leading to exports to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. Notably, they were selected for the Polish military vehicle replacement program.

Furthermore, Kia is also exhibiting the Tasman at the event. A Kia spokesperson remarked, “It is significant to showcase various specialized vehicles applying Kia’s superior technology, from medium trucks to pickups,” adding, “We will continue to present a future vision for military mobility by developing customized military vehicles to ensure safe movement.”
