“Thanks to K-Bank, I’m taking a break for the first time in three months!”

After living in the U.S. for nearly 15 years, Mr. A returned to Korea and used his experience in the Korean American community to venture into the restaurant business. Making American-style pho and LA galbi left him working non-stop with no days off since opening. He was selected for the ‘Send the Boss on Paid Vacation Campaign’ which allowed him to take a vacation with his family for the first time in three months.

K-Bank announced on the 22nd that the bosses selected in the ‘Send the Boss on Paid Vacation Campaign,’ targeting small business owners across the country, are now heading on their vacations. The campaign, held from August, received about 5,800 story submissions during the three-week application period, reflecting high interest.

A total of 40 selected bosses can take vacations freely on desired dates until the 31st of this month. During the vacation, K-Bank provides up to 3 million won in vacation support based on each shop’s daily sales.

The stories from small business owners conveyed their struggles without vacations. There were stories of a boss wanting to go on a workshop with employees who worked hard for over five years, and a couple in their 60s who haven’t left their stationery store of 30 years unattended, among many eye-catching stories.

Additionally, there were anecdotes such as a couple expecting a child by the end of this year wishing for a prenatal trip, and a couple who have postponed their honeymoon for 10 years now having a chance to create memories through this campaign.

Special customer notifications prepared by K-Bank are posted at closed shops during their vacation. The notice, tailored to the shop’s business type and the boss’s story, includes witty phrases. A gomtang (beef soup) restaurant carries the phrase, “Closed for 24-hour vacation instead of 24-hour business today,” while a cafe says, “Gone for a cup of vacation without rent worries.”

Content featuring bosses’ vivid vacation reviews and stories will be shared on various digital channels like Instagram and YouTube next month.

A K-Bank representative stated, “Seeing the bosses plan vacations with excitement after hearing about their selection was rewarding,” and added, “We will continue to offer a customer-centric financial culture that small business owners can truly feel by empathizing with their reality.”
