**Date for Summons Negotiated as Suspects… Commander Lee Jin-woo Also Notified to Appear**
The special investigation team of the National Police Agency’s National Investigation Headquarters investigating the ‘December 3 Martial Law Incident’ has notified former Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min and Lt. Gen. Yeo In-hyung, Commander of the Counter-intelligence Command, to appear for questioning on the 9th.
According to the police, the special investigation team has notified these key individuals, former Minister Lee and Commander Yeo, to appear as suspects and is coordinating the date of summons.
Former Minister Lee is accused of plotting and defending illegal martial law, including attending a Cabinet meeting during the martial law period. Commander Yeo is suspected of playing a leading role in executing the martial law, including attempting to arrest politicians and key figures shortly after the martial law was declared.
Former Minister Lee voluntarily resigned the day before following the Democratic Party’s impeachment proposal on the 7th. He and Commander Yeo, along with former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, who proposed the martial law and is also a junior from the same school as President Yoon, are called the “Chungam faction.”
The police have also informed Lee Jin-woo, the Commander of the Capital Defense Command, to appear. Commander Lee, who was dispatched to the National Assembly site during the martial law, disclosed that he received a call from President Yoon Seok-yeol inquiring about the situation around midnight on December 4, just after the martial law was declared.
