It has been analyzed that the 2025 College Scholastic Ability Test was slightly easier compared to the previous year, leading to predictions that the admission cut-off scores for major universities in Seoul might slightly increase.

Jongro Academy predicted that the acceptance cut-off score for Seoul National University’s College of Medicine would be 294 points, 2 points higher than last year (out of a total of 300 points from Korean, Math, and Science reasoning sections).

The expected scores for Yonsei University’s College of Medicine are 292 points (previously 290 points), Sungkyunkwan University 291 points (previously 289 points), and Korea University 290 points (previously 288 points), each expected to rise by about 2 points compared to last year.

For medical schools in the Seoul area, where the quota for medical students has been expanded, the admission cut-off is projected to be at least 285 points, which is also 2 points higher than last year.

Medical schools in the Gyeongin area are expected to have a cut-off of 285 points or more (previously 283 points or more), and provincial medical schools 276 points or more (previously 273 points or more).

Among the top departments at major universities are Seoul National University’s Interdisciplinary Program in Advanced Information (276 points, previously 273 points), Yonsei University’s System Semiconductor Engineering (269 points, previously 265 points), Korea University’s Semiconductor Engineering (268 points, previously 264 points), Korea University’s Next Generation Communications (266 points, previously 263 points), Sungkyunkwan University’s Semiconductor System Engineering (264 points, previously 261 points), and Intelligent Software (264 points, previously 260 points), all of which are projected to increase by up to 4 points or more.

Seoul National University’s business administration is predicted to increase by 1 point from last year to 285 points.

Both Yonsei and Korea Universities’ business programs have risen by 2 points to 279 points (previously 277 points).

Sungkyunkwan University’s global business 271 points (previously 267 points), Sogang University’s business administration 267 points (previously 266 points), Hanyang University’s policy department 265 points (previously 263 points), Chung-Ang University’s business administration 262 points (previously 262 points), Kyung Hee University’s management 257 points (previously 254 points), and Ewha Women’s University Humanities 255 points (previously 254 points) have all increased by 1 to 4 points compared to last year.

Jongro Academy predicted that the minimum cut-off for humanities departments at universities located in Seoul would be 204 points, which is 5 points higher than last year.

Jongro Academy stated, “As this year’s Korean and Math exams were both easier than last year, the raw score admission cut-offs are expected to rise,” and added, “Since the social studies portion was somewhat difficult, the increase in humanities scores is expected to be lower than that of the natural sciences.”

Furthermore, they projected, “The overall distinctiveness of the top-ranking students in this year’s exam has decreased compared to last year, creating an intense tactical competition amongst returning students.”
