On the 5th, Gyeonggi Province’s Osan City announced the full-scale launch of the “Anyone Care” project, ensuring that any citizen in need of care can receive support.
This initiative aims to address the blind spots in care services and to provide prompt, tailored support to citizens facing sudden care gaps.
The Osan-specific “Anyone Care” project offers services in three areas: Daily Living Support, Companion Care, and Meal Support.
The Daily Living Support service assists citizens experiencing care gaps due to sudden incidents. It includes support for personal hygiene, bathroom assistance, meal preparation, and dishwashing, available for up to 60 hours per year.
The Companion Care service supports citizens with mobility difficulties in visiting places like hospitals, government offices, and banks. This service is available for up to 60 hours annually.
The Meal Support service provides regular meals to citizens who find meal preparation challenging, with support for up to 45 meals per year.
Five organizations are participating in the implementation of this project. The Daily Living and Companion Care services are operated by the Osan Care Social Cooperative, Chamjoeun Home Welfare Center, and Gyeonggi-raon Home Welfare Center, while the Meal Support service is managed by the Segyo Welfare Foundation and Osan Senior Welfare Center.
The city applies differentiated support amounts based on the income level of the beneficiaries. Households earning up to 120% of the median income receive full support, those earning between 120% and 150% receive half the service cost, and households earning above 150% must bear the full cost.
Osan City Mayor Lee Kwon-jae stated, “Through the ‘Anyone Care’ project, we aim to fill care gaps and provide prompt assistance to those in need,” adding, “We will continue to craft meticulous welfare policies that each and every citizen can feel.”
