Gyeonggi Province: “Mr. Jeon used false information in administrative procedures to host the ‘Yoon Again Gathering’ through deceit.”
Kim Dong-yeon, the Governor of Gyeonggi Province, announced that he would not overlook the act of tainting the spirit of the March 1st Movement with ‘Yoon Again,’ in relation to the cancellation of the venue for the so-called ‘Jeon Han-gil’s KINTEX Concert,’ which was scheduled to be held on March 1st.
On the 24th, Gyeonggi Province spokesman Kang Min-seok issued a statement explaining, “Mr. Jeon’s event involved the use of false information in administrative procedures and employed deceit to host a ‘Yoon Again’ gathering contrary to social norms,” and clarified that this was the reason behind Governor Kim’s request to KINTEX to cancel the venue booking. KINTEX’s president, Lee Min-woo, notified Mr. Jeon of the venue cancellation the previous day.
According to KINTEX’s operational regulations, events deemed unacceptable by social norms can be restricted in venue allocation. Governor Kim, who has consistently emphasized strict punishment for insurrectionist groups, deemed the ‘Yoon Again’ gathering inconsistent with social order and norms. He expressed a strong stance on his Facebook page, stating, “I will never tolerate far-right delusional forces running rampant in Gyeonggi Province.”
Spokesman Kang addressed the cancellation, stating, “Mr. Jeon’s side claims this is ‘suppression,’ but this is another delusion. It is not suppression but a rightful administrative action against deceit and trickery.”
Mr. Jeon had planned to host a “3.1 Commemoration Free Music Concert” at KINTEX in Goyang on March 2nd. The event’s organizer had noted during the venue application on the 12th that the purpose was a “family cultural performance focusing on classical and popular music to reflect on the meaning of the March 1st Movement.” KINTEX’s venue assignment application form specifies that if the event details differ from the facts, the booking may be canceled, and the contract terminated.
However, Mr. Jeon himself revealed through his YouTube channel that the event was not merely a performance. He stated in a broadcast that he intended to express support for President Yoon Suk-yeol by chanting slogans such as ‘Yoon Again’ and ‘Eradicate Fraudulent Elections,’ implicitly indicating that it was a political rally aimed at rallying specific political forces. The province assessed this as “clear false reporting and deception in administrative procedures.”
