Jindo County announced on the 23rd that it will provide free flu vaccinations for all residents from September 22 until April 30 of next year.
The vaccinations will be administered sequentially based on age: children aged 6 months to under 9 years who require two doses can receive the vaccine starting September 22. Children aged 9 years to 13 years and pregnant women can start from September 29, and elderly people aged 65 and above can receive the flu shot as well as the free COVID-19 vaccine starting October 15. These vaccinations are available at nationwide health institutions and designated medical institutions, regardless of residence.
In Jindo County, general residents aged 14 to 64 can also receive the flu vaccine for free. For national merit honorees and vulnerable groups, vaccinations will be available starting October 20, while other general residents can receive vaccinations from October 27 at health centers, health clinics, and medical centers for free.
An official from Jindo County Health Center emphasized the importance of getting vaccinated between October and December, considering the flu season and vaccine effectiveness, to ensure a healthy winter.
When visiting vaccination centers, individuals must bring identification and relevant documentation. For more detailed information, inquiries can be made to the health center’s vaccination office.
