Gyeonggi Office of Education Proposes Establishing ‘Ruling-Party-Opposition-Government Cooperation Committee’ to Provincial Council

On the 19th, Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education proposed the establishment of a ‘Bipartisan Council for Government Cooperation’ with the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly to enhance policy effectiveness and adapt to changing educational conditions.

Gyeonggi Provincial Superintendent Lim Tae-hee, along with Democratic Party leaders Choi Jong-hyun and Lee Yong-wook, and People Power Party leaders Baek Hyun-jong and Lee Yong-ho, held a breakfast meeting that morning to review the current status and future tasks of Gyeonggi education.

During the meeting, Superintendent Lim formally proposed the establishment of a regular communication system termed the ‘Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education and Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Bipartisan Council for Government Cooperation’. Both party leaderships agreed on the necessity of strengthening collaboration between the two institutions for the development of Gyeonggi’s education.

The proposed council will be responsible for pre-reviewing and coordinating opinions on key policies, legislative proposals, budget bills, and social issues. Superintendent Lim also outlined major initiatives in school digital infrastructure improvement and university entrance system innovation, including the introduction of an AI-based system for descriptive assessments, and expressed his commitment to actively pursue these with the provincial assembly.

A representative from the Provincial Office of Education stated that this meeting aims to strengthen trust with the provincial assembly and accelerate the implementation of practical educational policies for students and local residents, as well as future educational policy initiatives.
