Gwangju Bank has announced the early release of the ‘KIA Tigers Championship Savings and Installment Savings’ to wish for the KIA Tigers’ 13th championship victory in professional baseball.
This product is a representative steady-seller seasonal item from Gwangju Bank, supporting the local team, KIA Tigers, alongside regional residents. It will be available for sale until July 31.
This year, KIA Tigers player Yang Hyeon-jong and Gwangju Bank President Go Byung-il were the first to sign up for the plan.
The championship savings account offers participation from 5 million KRW to a maximum of 100 million KRW per person with one account. It provides an interest rate of up to 3.15% per annum (basic rate of 2.90%) by adding up to 0.25 percentage points as a preferential rate, depending on KIA Tigers’ performance that year.
Last year, after the KIA Tigers won their 12th Korean Series championship, the ‘KIA Tigers Championship Savings’ gained 11,369 accounts totaling 300 billion KRW, while the ‘KIA Tigers Championship Installment Savings’ reached 19,090 accounts worth 69 billion KRW, with many customers receiving preferential interest rates.
Gwangju Bank President Go Byung-il stated, “We decided to release the product early to share the joy with baseball fans and wish for this year’s 13th championship victory (V13).”
