On the 18th, Gwacheon city announced that it had achieved the highest grade of “excellent” in the “2024 Data-Based Administration Assessment” conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The Data-Based Administration Assessment is conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, evaluating 679 institutions, including central administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions, with the aim of reviewing the overall administration operations of each institution and promoting the activation of data-related work through policy improvements.

“Data-Based Administration” refers to the collection and analysis of data to be utilized in policy-making and decision-making to implement more objective and scientific administration.

The city was recognized for its capabilities in data-based administration, achieving uniformly excellent results across three areas: data analysis and utilization, data sharing, and data management system.

In particular, data-based policies such as analysis of website user status, selection of priority installation areas for crime prevention CCTVs, and future population prediction analysis in Gwacheon city received high evaluations.

Mayor Shin Gye-yong stated, “We will continue to provide active and reliable administration services based on data to offer customized public services that citizens can feel.”

Meanwhile, this year, the city plans to resolve major pending issues within the Knowledge Information Town through big data analysis using private data such as corporate information and floating population, and secure basic data necessary for future policy-making.
