Eight new civil servants, who were receiving training at the Incheon Human Resources Development Center, have been expelled after leaving the classroom to drink during the day.
On the 6th, the Incheon Human Resources Development Center announced that they had expelled eight Level 9 civil servants, including trainee A, who were affiliated with the city and district offices.
It was found that A and others had left the training center in Seo-gu, Incheon, and were absent without permission from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the 2nd of this month.
They reportedly drank alcohol at a nearby restaurant during the day.
One of them became so intoxicated that they were unable to control themselves properly.
The Human Resources Development Center classified A’s unauthorized absence as a “Grade 1 incident” according to their internal guidelines, resulting in the expulsion of all involved.
A and the others were participants in the “New Talent Development” course that began on the 18th, and most of them were probationary civil servants who had not yet been formally appointed.
Each city and district will investigate the detailed facts following the notice of expulsion and plan to review disciplinary actions.
An official from the Human Resources Development Center stated, “The New Talent Development course is mandatory training, so A and the others will have to complete the course again.”
