The World Ramen Festival has been taking place in Busan since the 2nd of this month. While the festival, which features ramen brands from 15 countries including Korea, Japan, and Thailand, had initially raised great expectations, visitors have been pouring in negative reviews.
On portal sites, reviews are surfacing about the 10,000 won entry fee per person, saying, “There was no hot water available to cook the ramen,” and “There were not many ramen varieties.” There were also criticisms that “on the first day of the event, it was only in the afternoon that it became possible to eat ramen,” and “the supposedly free parking was actually being charged.”
As a result, the festival’s visitor ratings on portal sites are falling below 1 point. Photos and videos posted on social media reveal a desolate scene that looks more like an empty lot than a festival ground.
Netizens have remarked, “Paid 10,000 won to experience what it’s like to be a refugee,” “Reminds me of the Jamboree incident,” questioning whether the preparations were insufficient.
