Busan City Selects Eight Buildings for 2025 Busan Architecture Awards

The article discusses the winners of the ‘2025 Busan Architecture Awards,’ highlighting eight selected projects. The city of Busan held the competition to discover outstanding architectural works that reflect the identity and value of Busan as a charming maritime city. From March to June, 54 entries were received, evaluated by a jury of architecture experts.

Among the selected, ‘Jurye Open Library’ in Sasang-gu won the grand prize. Other winners include the EKE commercial and cultural space in Haeundae-gu (gold prize), Woam Library in Nam-gu, and Urban Egg accommodation in Busanjin-gu (silver prizes). The bronze prizes went to Busan Concert Hall, the city’s first classical music venue, and LUFT MILAK commercial facility in Suyeong-gu.

Commendations were awarded to the CSTC office remodeling project in Saha-gu and the Busan Care Building in Yeonje-gu. The winning structures will receive commemorative plaques and will be honored at the Busan Architecture Festival from November 17 to 21 at BEXCO.
