**Rosé and Bruno Mars’ ‘APT.’ Gains Popularity with ‘Rocket Rocket~’**
**Kim Yo-jong and Kim Jong-un Parody Video Becomes Sensation**
**Netizens React: “No. 1 on North Korean Aoji Chart”**
[Edaily Reporter Kang So-young] The video titled “Rocket,” which parodies North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Workers’ Party Deputy Director Kim Yo-jong, is gaining popularity following the success of the song “APT.” by BLACKPINK’s Rosé (real name Park Chae-young) and popular American pop star Bruno Mars.
On the YouTube channel “Mars Alien Lil Doji,” a 2-minute and 50-second video titled “APT.” was released on the 31st. The video starts with the introduction of the song “Apartment,” where the line “Chaeyoung’s favorite random game, random game, game start” is changed to “Father’s favorite provocation plan, provocation plan, trickery” through the voice of North Korea’s famous announcer Ri Chun-hee.
The repeated “apartment” lyrics are changed to “rocket,” satirizing North Korea’s missile launches and military deployments. It also captures the overall state of North Korea, including balloon messages.
Additionally, the original English lyrics are rewritten with similar-sounding Korean phrases to maintain cohesion. For example, “Kissy face, kissy face. Sent to your phone but” becomes “Quick deployment, quick deployment, bombardment at the forefront” and “Hold on, hold on. I’m on my way” is rephrased as “Chaos, chaos, I am everywhere.”
Kim Yo-jong’s voice replaces Rosé’s, while Kim Jong-un is featured playing drums and singing in the parts performed by Bruno Mars.
Netizens who watched the video have left comments like “No. 1 on North Korean Aoji chart,” “BruNORTH Mars,” “The rocket launch was amazing,” and “I’m in awe.”
As of 10 a.m. on the 1st, the video has had 720,000 views, attracting explosive interest.
Meanwhile, the music content-specialized channel “Mars Alien Lil Doji” has previously released other parodies featuring Kim Jong-un and Kim Yo-jong. Earlier, they released “North Me The Money,” a parody of Mnet’s “Show Me the Money,” and “BukJins Super Hemorrhage,” a parody of NewJeans’ “NewPer Natural.”
