Acting President Choi Presides Over the People’s Livelihood Economy Monitoring Meeting
Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok stated, “We will strive to improve the system, including efforts to pass the so-called ‘Sky Law’ in the National Assembly, to prevent tragic incidents from occurring in schools.” He emphasized, “We will also strengthen safety management inside and outside schools by expanding CCTV in blind spots within school premises.”
Acting President Choi held a people’s livelihood economy monitoring meeting on the 10th and said, “We will create a safe school environment for the new semester.”
He added details such as ▲ the introduction of ‘Neulbom School’ ▲ AI digital textbooks ▲ designation of educational development special zones ▲ establishment of a cooperative system RISE (Regional Innovation System for Education) with local governments and universities in 17 cities and provinces, indicating that “2025 is the year when the educational reforms, for which we have laid the foundation, will be implemented in practice,” and promised to “ensure that the major reform tasks of the new semester are settled in the educational field.”
Acting President Choi stated, “We will expand programs and support personnel so that any first and second graders who wish can participate in Neulbom School,” adding that they will “expand customized programs to 60,000 and allocate about 8,000 dedicated Neulbom School staff to ensure the ‘in-person handover and accompanied return’ principle is applied.”
He also mentioned, “We will support all schools that wish to utilize AI digital textbooks,” and emphasized, “We will run online schools in all cities and provinces so that students can take a variety of subjects suited to their career paths and aptitudes through the high school credit system, regardless of regional and school conditions.”
