“One in three private universities nationwide plans to increase tuition fees this year. According to a survey conducted by the Korean Council for University Education, which represents private universities, 48 out of 90 respondents, or 53.3%, indicated that they plan to raise tuition for the 2025 academic year. Meanwhile, 38 institutions are ‘still discussing’ whether to raise fees, and only four schools said they plan to freeze tuition. Given that 90 universities participated in the survey, it is analyzed that 31.8% of all private universities plan to increase tuition, and 25.2% are undecided.”
