Zelensky: “43,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed, 370,000 injured”

Ukraine, which has been at war with Russia for three years, reported that its military casualties amount to 43,000 killed and 370,000 wounded. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky disclosed these figures on the 8th local time, according to the BBC. President Zelensky further stated that 198,000 Russian soldiers have died and 550,000 have been injured. The BBC noted that Zelensky’s disclosure of casualty figures seems to have been influenced by a statement from U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. Trump had previously claimed on social media platform Truth Social that Ukraine had lost 400,000 soldiers and many more civilians.
