“US Midterm Election Party Support: Democrats 55%, Republicans 41%”

A year before the U.S. midterm elections, which will influence the second half of President Donald Trump’s administration, a poll shows that support for the Democratic Party is ahead of the Republican Party by 14 percentage points.

According to a survey conducted by NPR, PBS, and polling organization Marist from October 10 to 13 with 1,443 adults, 55% of respondents chose the Democratic Party, while 41% opted for the Republican Party.

It’s the first time in over three years that the Democrats have shown a clear lead in party preference polls since they outpaced the Republicans by 7 percentage points in June 2022.

President Trump’s approval rating stands at 39%, marking the lowest since the congressional riots on January 6, 2021, and it has decreased compared to the 41% recorded in the previous survey in September.
