Israel Calls it “Anti-Semitic Terror”**

On the 21st (local time) near the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington DC, a shooting resulted in the deaths of two employees from the Israeli embassy, shocking the community. According to reports from CNN and other major media outlets, Israeli embassy staff members Yaron Lisinsky and Sarah Milgrim, who were set to get engaged next week, were shot dead near the museum. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez from Chicago, was arrested immediately after the incident and is being jointly investigated by the Washington DC police and the FBI.

Witnesses reported that the suspect lingered around the Jewish Museum area before approaching four individuals leaving the museum after an event and opened fire. The suspect ran to the security guards, asking them to report to the police, and, upon police arrival, allegedly stated, “I did it for Gaza” and shouted “Free Palestine.”

The victims attended a ‘Young Diplomats Reception’ at the Jewish Museum and were attacked after leaving the event. The Israeli embassy in Washington issued a statement, saying “Lisinsky and Milgrim were both friends and colleagues,” and confirmed that the couple was about to get engaged. The embassy added, “Lisinsky had planned to propose next week in Jerusalem and had bought a ring just this week. They were a beautiful couple.”

Israel’s Foreign Ministry also expressed shock and horror at the “brutal terrorist attack that claimed the lives of two embassy staff.” Upon learning of the incident, U.S. President Donald Trump immediately described it as a horrifying act stemming from anti-Semitism on his social media platform, Truth Social, and offered condolences to the bereaved families.

FBI Director Cathy Patel noted that they are working with police officials to gather detailed information and will disclose it once available. The Jewish Museum where the incident occurred is located adjacent to the FBI Washington DC field office.
