“Trump Supports Netanyahu’s War Goals,” Says Israel

Israeli Prime Minister’s Office: “Trump-Netanyahu Call”
“Agreement on the Need to Prevent Iran from Acquiring Nuclear Weapons”
‘[Edaily Reporter Kim Gyeo-rae] The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced on the 22nd (local time) that U.S. President Donald Trump supports Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s war objectives regarding Gaza. ‘

The announcement included a photo of U.S. President Donald Trump (left) and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. (Photo: AFP) According to local media such as the Times of Israel, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement saying, “Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump discussed the Gaza War over the phone today,” adding, “President Trump expressed support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s current objectives concerning the war in Gaza and the necessity to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.”

The call took place shortly after two Israeli embassy staff members were shot dead in Washington, D.C. the previous day. The Prime Minister’s Office reported, “President Trump expressed deep sorrow over the horrific murders of the victims.”

Further, “Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed gratitude to President Trump and his administration for their efforts to combat anti-Semitism in the United States.”

The previous day, in a press conference, Prime Minister Netanyahu outlined the war objectives as “the release of all hostages, the elimination of Hamas, and the implementation of the Trump plan.” It was the first time Prime Minister Netanyahu included the implementation of President Trump’s post-war plan, which involves resettling Gaza’s civilian population, as a condition for ending the conflict. President Trump had earlier this year unveiled a vision to relocate the Palestinian population of Gaza and develop the area into a resort destination under U.S. leadership.

Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated his claim that President Trump supports him. He stated, “Recently, I spoke separately with President Trump and U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, and was assured of America’s support for Israel.” Notably, Vice President Vance mentioned, “Do not worry about the fake news suggesting any rift between us.”

While Israel remains a key ally of the United States, there was controversy over ‘passing’ as President Trump toured Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE from the 13th to the 16th without visiting Israel.
