Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has ordered that flags on public buildings be flown at half-mast to mourn the passing of Pope Francis, who died yesterday (21st local time).
President Trump announced this order during a speech at the “Easter Egg Roll” event held at the White House. He stated that the lowering of flags was a sign of mourning and respect for the Pope.
Additionally, President Trump mentioned, “Easter is one of our favorite holidays,” adding, “We will exalt Jesus Christ very strongly throughout our entire lives,” and “We are restoring religion in America.”
