Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine on the eve of the NATO summit in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on the 8th local time through the SNS that Russian forces fired about 40 missiles, causing damage to several cities including the capital Kyiv and Dnipro.
It was reported that at least 31 people died and 154 others were injured in the attacks on that day, including a children’s hospital in Kyiv being bombed.
The United Nations Security Council is scheduled to hold an emergency meeting on the 9th US Eastern time to discuss the issue of civilian casualties caused by the Russian attacks.
