**Giant Panda ‘Fubao’ to Be Revealed to Public in Chengdu Panda Base**
[Financial News] The Giant Panda ‘Fubao’ will be presented to visitors at the Chengdu Panda Base in Sichuan Province, China.
On the 24th, the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda announced on its official Weibo account, “Tomorrow (25th), Fubao will meet you all. We are looking forward to it,” and shared a video over a minute long, showcasing Fubao’s recent updates.
The center explained in a video, formatted as if Fubao were speaking to viewers, “I want to share some news with you first. After resting and stabilizing for over 100 days, I will be in Nursery No. 2 tomorrow (25th) to meet you.”
This marks Fubao’s first public appearance since exhibiting spasms and other unusual symptoms on December 3rd last year, leading to a 4-month isolation.
The center highlighted the previous situation in the video, stating, “Since experiencing tremors on December 3rd last year, Fubao remained in a non-exhibit area, receiving heartfelt care from veterinarians and keepers.”
Moreover, the center stated that veterinarians and keepers conducted a thorough examination of Fubao, provided customized treatment, and offered special care and expert joint diagnosis during the estrus period, adding, “It feels like Fubao’s condition has significantly improved.”
The center also mentioned that Fubao’s habitat was thoroughly sterilized, disinfected, and revamped with additional green plants, expressing excitement for meeting everyone tomorrow (25th).
The video included both recent footage and past clips of Fubao, showing Fubao eating food in the initial 15 seconds of the recent footage.
Back in December 3rd last year, the Sichuan Wolong Giant Panda Base, where Fubao resides, announced via Weibo that “Fubao is under close observation due to unusual symptoms.” Although the base did not disclose the nature of these symptoms, multiple videos surfaced on Weibo depicting Fubao shaking and convulsing while eating bamboo shoots, leading to the creation of a hashtag “Fubao shaking.”
Fubao was born on July 20, 2020, to pandas Le Bao and Ai Bao, sent by Chinese President Xi Jinping as a symbol of China-South Korea friendship in March 2016.
While living in Everland, Yongin, Fubao was affectionately called “Yongin Foo,” “Princess Fu,” and “Puduntun,” receiving much love.
In line with an agreement that giant pandas born overseas must return to China before turning four, Fubao was sent back to China on April 3rd last year, 1,354 days after birth.
Recently, there have been accusations from both Korean and Chinese netizens regarding the harsh conditions Fubao faced in China. In response, Chinese authorities have actively refuted these claims by releasing statements and videos of Fubao.
