Israeli airstrikes target the center of Beirut… Israel accelerates attacks on Lebanon.

The Israeli military carried out airstrikes on the central part of the Lebanese capital Beirut, resulting in over 100 casualties, as reported by AFP on the 10th local time.

The Lebanese Health Ministry stated in a press release on that day that “Israeli aggressors bombed Beirut this evening, causing 22 deaths and 117 injuries.”

The Israeli military declared the start of the “Operation Northern Arrow” last month by launching artillery attacks on various parts of Lebanon on the 23rd, and escalated their attacks by entering into ground operations in southern Lebanon after 18 years on the 30th.

The Israeli airstrikes in Beirut have mainly targeted the southern outskirts of Dahiyeh, known as a major stronghold of Hezbollah, making the strikes in the city center unusual.

According to a Lebanese security source, the Israeli military targeted specific senior Hezbollah officials affiliated with Iran, as reported by AFP.

Reuters cited multiple security sources mentioning that “a senior Hezbollah figure escaped from an Israeli assassination attempt.”
