Jang Ho-jin nominated as special advisor for diplomacy and national security
On the 12th, President Yoon appointed Kim Yong-hyun, the chief of the presidential security service, as the candidate for Minister of National Defense. He also nominated Shin Won-sik as the head of the National Security Office and Jang Ho-jin as the special advisor for diplomacy and national security.
During the briefing at the presidential office in Yongsan, Chief of Staff Jung announced these appointments.
Jung stated, “Candidate Kim Yong-hyun is an expert in national defense and security fields, having served in various military positions and earning great respect from within and outside the military.” He explained that Kim’s deep understanding of the intentions of military commanders as the former chief of the presidential security service made him well-suited for the role of Minister of National Defense.
President Yoon also nominated former Constitutional Court Justice Ahn Chang-ho as the candidate for the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission.
