Yongsan Residence Area Near Hangangjin Station Bypassed and Temporarily Closed… “Due to Crowd Surge”

On the morning of the 4th, ahead of President Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment trial, participants in a rally opposing the impeachment are waving the South Korean and American flags in front of the Presidential Residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. As crowds gathered near Hangangjin Station, close to the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, ahead of the impeachment trial verdict, Seoul Metro fully controlled access to the station entrances and operated trains to pass through without stopping. Seoul Metro announced that from 9 AM, Hangangjin Station on Line 6 would operate trains without stopping and temporarily closed the station entrances.

The corporation requested, “Please use nearby stations and move on foot, and refrain from moving around Hannam-daero.”

Supporters of President Yoon are gathering in front of the presidential residence where he is staying, ahead of the verdict at the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court is scheduled to deliver its verdict in the impeachment trial of President Yoon at 11 AM that day.

Previously, Seoul Metro had implemented non-stop passage at Anguk Station on Line 3 from 4 PM the day before and has been controlling all station entrances.
