On this day, Hua Chunying, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, announced that President Xi is scheduled to make a state visit to Peru from the 13th to the 17th and attend the 31st APEC Summit in the capital city of Lima.
From the 17th to the 21st, President Xi plans to make a state visit to Brazil and attend the 19th G20 Summit.
According to Kyodo News, taking advantage of the APEC and G20, there is a possibility of a meeting between U.S. President Joe Biden, who will be leaving office in January next year, and President Xi. The media outlet reported that U.S. officials are working to arrange what could be the final summit between President Biden and President Xi, who are set to visit Peru and Brazil next week.
The most recent face-to-face meeting between President Biden and President Xi was in November of last year in San Francisco, USA.
