“Waiting for the first full moon of the year: How about making a wish at Changgyeonggung Palace?”

The Changgyeonggung Palace will host a “Jeongwol Daeboreum, the Full Moon Descends on Changgyeonggung Palace” event from February 24 to March 2. The event is open to the public without prior registration and will take place from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. Visitors can enjoy taking photos with a large full moon model set up around the Punggidae at Changgyeonggung Palace, which serves as the base for a wind-measuring flagpole behind Jibokheon.

On February 24 and 25, a special lunar observation event will be held in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Observatory from 7 PM to 8:30 PM. While this observation does not require pre-registration and can be attended on site, it may be canceled in case of poor weather conditions.

During the event period, participants can post photos or videos (up to 30 seconds) with the theme “Waiting for the Changgyeonggung Full Moon” on their social media with the hashtag “#ChanggyeonggungFullMoon” and submit the post URL via a Naver form linked on the Changgyeonggung management office website for a chance to win gifts. Ten winners will be selected in a raffle, and results will be announced on March 11 on the website.

Visitors can enjoy this event and appreciate the night ambiance of the palace, making it a meaningful occasion to wish for health and safety throughout the year. For detailed information, visitors can check the Changgyeonggung management website or contact them by phone.
