Two years since its launch, SKT’s ‘K-AI Alliance’ showcases Korean technology at CES.

SKT and its member companies held an “IR Pitching Day,” adding three new AI companies to the alliance, bringing the total to 25 members. Yoo Young-sang, CEO of SKT, stated, “By coming together, we aim to lead the industry’s development.” The K-AI Alliance, a domestic AI conglomerate founded by SKT two years ago, showcased Korean technology at CES 2025, one of the world’s largest IT and electronics exhibitions.

On January 8th (local time), SK Telecom announced that it hosted an “IR Pitching Day” at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, USA, with its K-AI Alliance member companies. Participants included AI companies PersonaAI, ImpriMed, LabelUp, Twelve Labs, and EmoCog, who introduced their AI technologies and their plans for the year.

SKT also plans to organize a private networking event during CES to facilitate exchanges among domestic AI startups. They will share insights on CES and AI trends and hold networking sessions with Silicon Valley venture capitalists.

Im Seong-won, CEO of ImpriMed, expressed joy at being able to share the company’s technology and vision at CES, a global event visited by over 100,000 people worldwide. He hopes this opportunity will serve as a catalyst for the further expansion and development of the alliance.

With the addition of three new AI companies, the alliance has expanded to 25 members in its two years of operation. The new additions include Twelve Labs, an AI video analysis company; Liner, which develops AI search services; and EmoCog, a digital health AI company.

Twelve Labs, founded in San Francisco in 2021, develops AI multimodal models that understand and search videos. It has raised $50 million in funding from Nvidia Ventures and others, with SKT investing $3 million last year.

Liner specializes in AI search services that provide information sources and answers based on reliable academic data and papers. Liner has amassed over 10 million users across more than 220 countries. Liner’s CEO Kim Jin-woo was recently named one of Forbes’ 33 AI founders to watch in 2025.

EmoCog is an innovative digital medical company developing solutions for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cognitive impairment. It is creating user-friendly cognitive screening tools and reliable cognitive therapy technologies for the elderly.

SKT plans to promote the activation of the domestic AI ecosystem and expand into the global market through the alliance. CEO Yoo Young-sang emphasized the importance of collaboration with Korean AI innovation companies to position South Korea as a global AI powerhouse, pledging to unify K-AI Alliance as a representative AI team to lead the industry’s development.
