Today’s Weather: Rain Across the Country… Sunday Temperatures to Drop

Please remember to bring an umbrella today (the 15th). Rain is expected in various parts of the country. In the afternoon, rain will start in areas such as Chungcheong, the southern regions, and Jeju Island. By night, rain will also reach the metropolitan area and Gangwon.

Looking at the current radar images, you can see which areas are experiencing rain. Currently, rain clouds are located over parts of Honam, Yeongdong, and Jeju. Especially in Jeju, heavy rain exceeding 40mm per hour is pouring down, leading to heavy rain advisories.

The rain is expected to continue through tomorrow morning. Forecasted precipitation amounts are as follows: 20 to 60mm for Yeongdong, northern Gyeongbuk, Jeonnam, and Gyeongnam; 10 to 50mm for Chungcheong and Jeonbuk; 10 to 40mm for the metropolitan area, Yeongseo, and southern Gyeongbuk; and 10 to 60mm for Jeju.

Today, strong swell waves are expected particularly in the Eastern Sea and around Jeju.

Looking at the daytime temperatures by region, Seoul will have a high of 24°C, Jeonju 26°C, and Daegu 23°C, which is similar to or slightly higher than average.

On Saturday morning, rain is expected to fall across various regions once again. After the rain stops, on Sunday, the morning temperature in Seoul will drop sharply to single digits.
