The special prosecutor has notified Han Hak-ja, the president of the Unification Church, of a summons on the 8th.

The Special Prosecutor Min Joong-gi’s team has notified Han Hak-ja, the president of the Unification Church, who is embroiled in various solicitation allegations, to appear next Monday.

The special prosecutor announced through a press briefing today (the 4th) that Han has been informed to appear before the special prosecutor on the 8th.

They confirmed that the summons notice was clearly delivered, but added that they had not been informed of Han’s hospitalization or her intention to appear.

Han is suspected of having supported then-presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol during the last presidential election to lobby for Unification Church issues, and of providing solicitation-related gifts and illegal political funds to those around her.

Previously, the special prosecutor specified in the indictment of former Unification Church world headquarters director Yoon Young-ho that Han approved solicitations to Kim Kun-hee and lawmaker Kwon Sung-dong.
