Former President Park Geun-hye attended the ‘107th Birthday Cultural Event of President Park Chung-hee’ held last November 14th at Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province. After watching a video message restoring President Park Chung-hee, she engaged in conversation with Kim Kwan-yong, the chief vice-chairman of the Advisory Council on Democratic and Peaceful Unification, and Kim Jang-ho, the mayor of Gumi.
The leadership of the People Power Party plans to pay a visit to former President Park Geun-hye. According to the People Power Party, Kwon Young-se, the chairman of the emergency countermeasures committee, Kwon Seong-dong, the floor leader, and Kim Sang-hoon, the chairman of the policy committee, are scheduled to visit Park’s residence in Yuga-eup, Dalseong County, Daegu, on the afternoon of the 3rd.
This will be the first meeting between the party leadership and former President Park under the ‘Kwon Young-se system.’ It is expected that they will seek advice on current issues inside and outside the party as the Constitutional Court’s announcement on the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk-yeol approaches.
Previously, Chairman Kwon met with former President Lee Myung-bak (MB) on the 26th of last month, and Floor Leader Kwon did so on the 17th of last month. At that time, former President Lee told Chairman Kwon, “It seems to be the most difficult time since our conservative party was formed,” adding that “the People Power Party is the ruling party. Even with a small number, if we gather strength, we can do it. We can do everything.” He also emphasized ‘unity within the conservative camp,’ saying, “The government is now halfway through President Yoon’s term, and is in full swing, so how much of a loss is it to the country.”
